2L works you to death

Okay first off – several of my friends have caught me at school and said they read my blog and omg??? I love y’all. Having me like ME?? You read what I have to say??? Anywho anyway. I honestly didn’t even know what to call today’s post. I didn’t have a theme, just ramblings in…

Anywho anyway. I honestly didn’t even know what to call today’s post. I didn’t have a theme, just ramblings in my head. Nonsense, if you will (apologies for the Sabrina pun). But I figured maybe just a semester update felt right, as it encapsulates all the random thoughts and might be a good time to catch up.

Currently it is Wednesday, September 9. Two and a half weeks into the fourteen week semester (Thanksgiving break and finals excluded). Which is honestly a bit mind boggling, time really flies so fast, but I can feel it. “2L works you to death” oh boy and are they! The first two weeks didn’t feel like it, as everything was just getting started, but let me tell you.

My externship at the prosecutor’s office. I love it. I am enjoying my time there. But it does take up quite a bit of time. Same with my research internship with Kansas Pet Advocates. Trial Ad is a lot of work outside of class as well, but then add in mock trial – my case drops on Monday. We have five weeks to put together a trial. Which is doable, just a lot. I feel like I am already behind in readings, which, by the way, I somehow avoided in 1L. And I’m writing this post at 10PM because I truly had no other time today to do so. I woke up. Studied. Had a raging migraine. Skipped class because of said migraine to nap for the hour I would have been in class. Woke up and went to the prosecutor’s office, still with a migraine. Stayed late working on a project. Got home, cooked and ate dinner*, worked out. And somehow it is 10PM and I barely got to see my dogs or boyfriend (whom I literally live with) and definitely didn’t get to finish all my readings for tomorrow. Oh well.

Life happens. We fall behind. It’s okay. It’s not the end of the world. I’ll catch up this weekend, even try to get ahead. I’ll probably fall behind again. But the important thing to me is that I am loving it. I’m busy, no doubt, but it is a busy that I enjoy. And thank God for that, because if it weren’t what on Earth would I be six figures into debt for.

So, if you are reading this and you, like me, are a bit behind or overwhelmed. It’s okay. We’re fine. And at the end of the day, it really isn’t that serious.

(TWO memes in one post??? Who am I)

*I do not do all the cooking. Whoever gets home first cooks that night, and today it happened to be me.

Song of the day: Nonsense Sabrina Carpenter
